A fixed dental bridge is a replacement for one or more missing teeth, which is firmly attached to two or more adjacent teeth. This dental prosthesis is not only aestheticly pleasing, but also restores functionality. A bridge consists of crowns on the neighbouring teeth (abutments) and pontics; an abutment crown costs €400 in Košice, and a bridge unit costs from €450 in Chorvátsky Grob.

1. Initial consultation
During the consultation, we will discuss and together choose the shade and shape of the bridge that will suit you best.

2. Adjustment of adjacent teeth
Subsequently, we grind the adjacent teeth on which the bridge will be placed. Adjacent teeth serve as a support for a new fixed restoration.

3. Taking impressions
We will take impressions of your teeth to craft a new fixed bridge for you in our HAPPYDENT LAB laboratory. In addition, we will make a temporary replacement for you, which you will have for about a week.

4. Deployment of the bridge
We will place the new fixed bridge on the adjacent teeth, thanks to which we will cover the gap created by the missing tooth/teeth. In addition, our dentist will teach you about the proper care of the restored denture.

When is a dental bridge suitable

A dental bridge is suitable if one or more teeth in a row are missing and the neighbouring teeth are strong enough to serve as support. The bridge consists of crowns on the neighbouring teeth (abutments) and pontics that fill the gap left by the missing tooth. The dentist will decide which solution suits you after an examination.

A bridge on your own teeth or on implants

A bridge on your own teeth – we grind down the neighbouring teeth and fit crowns on them that hold the pontic. The neighbouring teeth support the new fixed restoration.
A bridge on implants – the support is provided by dental implants. Placing dental implants does not require grinding down healthy teeth.
All teeth are missing – a fixed bridge on 4 or 6 implants (All-on-4 and All-on-6).

Zirconia or metal-ceramic bridge

At Happydent we work mainly with zirconia bridges. Thanks to its material, zirconia blends in with the other teeth and looks natural and aesthetic. It is very strong and durable and contains no metal, so it is also suitable for patients who suspect a metal allergy. Metal-ceramic, a proven material, is also available. Caring for a dental bridge

Brush your teeth regularly and use interdental brushes and dental floss – especially around the bridge.
Food can get stuck under the bridge; a water flosser also helps with cleaning.
Regular dental hygiene is especially important with bridges, crowns and implants.
If the bridge moves or food gets stuck under it more often than before, book a check-up.
